In the winter of 1990, I spent six weeks traveling in the canyons of Utah and the redwoods of California with a dog, car and oh yeah, a boyfriend. The following year, we bought a small pop up trailer that we towed with a VW Golf and traveled to Ashville NC, Charleston, Okeefanokee Swamp, Edisto Island in Georgia and landed at Mardi Gras in New Orleans just by luck. I was hooked. For the past 25 years I've been wanting to do this again, but one thing or the other made it just not feel like the "right time." So now it is. Me, dog, car. No boyfriend.

USDA Certified CHOOCHI

Final prep for Paris!

A visit to the USDA certified vet in New Baltimore NY to get all her paperwork done. I had NO IDEA! This is a big deal.


Then a visit to the USDA office in Albany NY to get them to sign off.



Trying out various carriers, decisions, decisions. She seems to like them all. SO GOOD!
Juno says "au revoir" and "bon voyage" to his "petit chou" (yes it's a video! press play)




And we're off to Paris on Monday!

    I didn’t know you can bring a dog to Paris. Will he travel on the airplane and what is the extra cost. Can you enter England from France with a dog. My daughter has a quiet shy chihuahua for emotional support and wants to visit her best friend in London.

      Extra cost from New York USA to Paris is $125 each way. If she is an emotional support dog, might be free and the dog can sit on her lap. But I think that requires some certification of some kind. Great Britain is very strict with dog entry and exit so I'd check on that.
